A significant part of my career has been spent recording outside conventional production environments.
Panama presents unusually demanding conditions for location sound: tropical humidity, heavy rainfall, dense rainforest, rivers, islands, boats, remote communities and locations where access to power or infrastructure may be limited.
Working successfully in these environments requires more than equipment.
It requires understanding how to build a reliable sound workflow around the location, the crew and the story.
My field experience includes documentary, natural history, ethnographic recording, interviews, observational production and extended work in remote areas of Panama.
This experience also informs my broader practice in sound recording and acoustic documentation.

Over more than 25 years working in production sound, my work has taken me across New Zealand, Thailand, Singapore, South Africa, Germany, the Czech Republic, the United States, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Guyana, Colombia and Costa Rica, as well as extensively throughout Panama.
From tropical locations in Koh Lanta, Phuket and the Yucatán to international film, television, documentary and field productions across multiple continents, I am accustomed to adapting sound workflows to unfamiliar locations, changing production conditions and demanding environments.
For international crews coming to Panama, that experience means understanding not only location sound, but the working methods, expectations and pace of international productions.
